Research Interests

Lincoln Katleski’s path to chemistry began behind the bar, where a love for mixing and precision naturally evolved into a deeper fascination with chemical science. Initially set on pharmaceutical development, his direction shifted after conducting research working with nanomaterials such as nanoplatelets with Dr. Jeffrey Peterson at SUNY Geneseo. A pivotal moment came when he attended a seminar by Dr. Mike Ruggiero, sparking a passion for crystalline lattice structures and nanomaterials that has guided his focus ever since. Lincoln is particularly interested in the structural tunability of nanoplatelets, and how their unique characteristics could shape the future of materials science, especially in electronics and medicinal delivery methods. With Ruggiero’s mentorship, he continues to explore hands-on chemistry through the lens of solid-state materials.

Outside of the chemistry world, he enjoys bartending, playing tennis, golf, and spending time with his close-knit group of friends from his small hometown in upstate New York.
