B.A. University of Rochester, Eastman School of Music, Horn Performance, Expected 2027

Andrew is a native of Tampa, Florida, where he grew up and graduated as valedictorian from Howard W. Blake High School. He chose to attend the University of Rochester to pursue degrees in both chemistry and music, supported by a music scholarship from the Eastman School of Music.

In the summer of 2024, Andrew participated in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) through the Center for the Mechanical Control of Chemistry (CMCC) at Vanderbilt University, where he worked in the Hanusa Lab, an organometallic research group. His research was presented at a poster session at the 2025 ACS National Meeting in San Diego, California.

In the summers of 2025 and 2026, Andrew participated in the IRES CRYSTAL Dynamics Program, contributing to the computational team studying low-frequency interactions in solid-state compounds. The opportunity to continue in the program for a second year was too valuable to pass up, and he is excited to spend another summer in Italy working with a collaborative and supportive international research team.

Outside of academics, Andrew enjoys cycling, board games, practicing yoga, hiking, and listening to a wide range of music—from pop and country to classical. Back in Florida, he is an active volunteer and was honored with the Anne Frank Humanitarian Award for completing over 900 hours of community service and holding leadership positions in two separate nonprofit organizations.
