Research Interests
Ava is an undergraduate chemistry major at the University of Iowa and a member of Dr. Korey Carter’s research group. She is broadly interested in chemistry and enjoys exploring different areas of the field, with particular interests in radiochemistry and physical chemistry. She was drawn to the IRES CRYSTAL Dynamics Program because it provides an opportunity to strengthen her research skills while learning more about physical chemistry and crystal dynamics.
Ava is excited to apply what she has learned in her coursework and research training to new problems in materials chemistry. In the future, she hopes to pursue a PhD in chemistry, with a possible focus in radiochemistry or physical chemistry. Outside of research, Ava enjoys reading, cooking and baking, and spending time outdoors.
